Scott Schumacher

Hello!  My name is Scott Schumacher.  I live in Duluth, MN, near the shores of Lake Superior, and many beautiful points “Up North” as we say in Minnesota.

My specialty is helping creative people to share their passions on the World Wide Web, and to use the internet to market what is unique and “alive in them.

I value the personal relationships that I build with my clients in serving their immediate and ongoing needs with regard to web design and web content management.

I have been designing web sites since 1993, when I created a Macintosh help resources page for a friend’s startup internet service provider.  As an Apple enthusiast, I have always immersed myself in technology and tools that allow an artist to simply create.

In my professional life, I spent nine years as a contracted “Macintosh Specialist for Hire”.  Throughout this time, I worked for companies such as Imation Corp., American Family Insurance, The Minnesota Historical Society, Mayo Clinic, and for six months early in my career, the internal helpdesk for Apple Computer.  Somewhere in between these contracts, I studied massage therapy and other healing arts, and became a Certified Massage Practitioner in 1999.

Then, in early 2006, I left the corporate world behind, to work from my own passions of holistic healing and web design. I opened my own healing arts studio, and began helping others like myself to market themselves over the web.

My experience in technology and web design has always been an asset to me in the pursuit of all of my passions.  Knowing how to leverage the internet and the web to market my businesses, build social networks, and ultimately – to create – has been incredibly valuable.

Now I spend my career happily with one foot in technology, and the other in the holistic healing arts. I only take on a few web clients at a time to maintain a more personal approach, and to also give time for my work in the healing arts.

In addition to my passions for web design and holistic health, I enjoy bicycling, singing (I’m a classically trained Tenor!), sustainable living, permaculture, and autodidactic learning (the belief that the world itself can be one’s classroom, and that learning happens best when it is guided by our individual passions).

Please feel free to check out my other ventures!
