Art
I believe that we are all great artists. I like to use art to reflect on a topic, or to draw out ideas, images, and feelings. Creating art is a wonderful way to synthesize learning, and to explore facets one might not have thought to ponder. Below are some samples of drawings, photographs, art projects, and reflections of mine.
Meeting My Inner Artist
A drawing and reflection I did for a class entitled “Creativity and Holistic Health” - I took a meditative journey to “meet my inner artist.” This learning journey served to open the door for me to the wonderment of art and inquiry. I love to let my inner artist out to play now!

Photo Set - Hands
Can we really “know” something that we perceive only with our eyes? Can we somehow journey into the past history, the emotions and feelings, or the energy of an object or place by interacting with it physically? Since 2006, I have been photographing my hands (and sometimes feet) in various places, as a statement of being present and interacting on a deeper level. When I place my hand upon a stone, a wall, or in a river, I am artfully stating that “I am here” and am a willing listener - eager to learn from interacting with the world around me.
Flickr is an online photo sharing and organizing service where I post much of my digital photography. Feel free to explore my photo sets from the past years. Photography is one of my methods of inquiry, and allows me to store memories for further reflection. I never leave home without my camera, as images I capture can inspire me for years. Drawings and Photographs from Tettegouche State Park
In September of 2007, I spent three days in Northern Minnesota at Tettegouche State Park with my partner Michael, and his mother. This was a time of great reflection and transition in my life, as well as a time of great connection with Nature. Photos by Michael Larson.
Mask Making
I participated in an Animal Mask Making class at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre in 2007. You can view the following photos on Flickr, as well as read my summary paper about the experience here (PDF).
